About the project

Buying and reading
in one place.

The problem

Book services usually keep buying and reading apart: the shop on a website, the reader in an app, audio in a third place. Someone who has bought a book looks for where to open it every time, and loses their place at every crossing. Pereplet is built so that step does not exist.

How it was built

From the catalogue
to the reader.

01

Structure

We split the service into six sections, each of which can be walked into directly: shop, catalogue, audiobooks, library, subscription, profile. The same title sits in the catalogue and on the reader’s shelf, but shows differently — price there, progress here.

02

Catalogue

Filtering works on four things at once: genre, format, rating and subscription. Removable chips show what is filtered right now — otherwise people forget why the results are short and decide there are few books.

03

Book page

One screen holds everything a purchase turns on: cover, length, translation, publisher, year, rating and whether the subscription covers it. The price and “read the first chapter” stand together — the sample comes before payment, not instead of it.

04

Reader

Three themes, four typefaces, three column widths and type size. The settings are not buried in a submenu: they change mid-read, in one click, without losing the line.

05

Text and audio

Switching between reading and listening keeps the place: finish a paragraph and the player starts from it. This is the core mechanic; everything else is built around it.

06

Library

The shelf shows where someone left off: pages left, what is being read now, where the bookmarks and notes sit. Next to it, statistics and achievements — the things that bring people back to a book.

07

Design system

One set of cards, chips, buttons and badges across every section. Shop, shelf and player are assembled from the same parts, so a new section does not have to be drawn from scratch.

Logo

The name and
a line beneath.

The logo is a wordmark: the name is set in Manrope at its heaviest weight with negative letter-spacing, so the word holds together as one block. The line “every book its own binding” explains the name: a binding here is both the cover and the way a book is put together.

Interface

Five screens,
the whole path.

The reader’s path

The front page shows what to read; the catalogue, how to choose; the book page, what to settle on; the shelf and the profile, what has been read already. Between them nobody leaves the service or loses their place in a book.
